What is comfort food? Comfort food is food that is eaten when there is an emotional shift in someone's life. Often, the foods that are considered "comfort food" are extremely unhealthy. These foods are high in the amount of sugar and salt, which can lead to many diseases such as diabetes, heart attack, and others.

Because of the health risks involved with comfort food, you would think that people would refrain from eating when they go through a stressful experience. That is not the case. We, as a whole, look for something that can give us joy, whether that joy is only temporary or lasts a long time. Food is a delicious way "get rid of the pain." Eating comfort food is not a bad habit, but there is a healthier way to comfort yourself. Just because you are "eating the pain away," doesn't mean that you have to eat something unhealthy.

In this blog, I hope to show you a whole new way to look at food. Being healthy is not a curse. It is ia way to live a longer life. I come from a long line of people who have had to find a better way to cook their food. Diabetes runs in my family. As a young lady who is at high risk, I have to eat healthier.

  1. You started your blog post off very well. I like the fact that you defined what comfort foods are in the beginning. You also explained what the consequences of eating foods that we like so much are. It is definitely true that many people eat 'comfort foods' for emotional reasons. I enjoyed reading your blog post, and I think other readers will too. :)

  2. I really enjoy your new choice of colors. The golds and browns are very "comforting" and your visual of the cookies enhance your colors. I love your topic about how eating healthy does not always have to be tasteless. Also, I think it is interesting how you incorporate some personal information about yourself and your family in order to give a background on why you chose your topic.

  3. The color scheme is great. To me it seems like the color of golden brown pancakes or something else that is delicious. You really go in on how comfort food doesn't necessarily have to be chips, cookies, and candy. This is good for people who complain about gaining weight after a stressful period and eating alot of "comfort food." You have proven to them that there is a better way to enjoy comfort for.
